Why Gua Sha & Meridian Massage?
For thousands of years, Traditional Chinese Medicine has recognized that health and vitality depend on the smooth flow of Qi (vital energy) throughout the body. Gua Sha and meridian massage are among the most cherished practices for restoring this natural flow. Using a smooth-edged tool to gently scrape or comb the skin, these ancient techniques help promote circulation, release tension, and support overall well-being.
The beauty of these practices? They are remarkably simple to learn and easy to incorporate into your daily routine. With just a few minutes a day, you can bring the wisdom of ancient healing arts into your modern life. No complex training required—just your tool, some oil, and a few mindful moments.
Our Coral-Shaped Massage Comb is thoughtfully crafted from natural green sandalwood, featuring a unique coral-inspired design with multiple curved edges and rounded teeth. The organic shape mimics the gentle branches of coral, allowing you to reach every contour of your head and face with ease. Finished with no paint or varnish, the wood is polished to a smooth, natural luster—safe for all skin types and gentle even on sensitive areas.
This versatile comb is your all-in-one tool for head, face, eyes, nose, jawline, and more. Whether you're looking to relieve tension, lift facial contours, or simply enjoy a moment of self-care, the Coral-Shaped Massage Comb is ready to accompany you.
How to Use the Coral-Shaped Massage Comb
Step 1: Prepare and Lubricate
Before each use, gently wipe your comb with a soft, dry cloth. For facial use, apply a generous amount of facial oil, serum, or cream to the areas you wish to work on. For scalp use, you may use it on dry hair or with a light hair oil.
Step 2: Scalp Massage
Hold the comb comfortably in your hand. Use the rounded teeth or curved edges with gentle to moderate pressure.
- Full scalp: Comb from front to back along the natural meridian lines—center first (Governor Vessel), then sides (Bladder Meridian), then outer sides (Gallbladder Meridian). Helps stimulate hair follicles, improve circulation, and relieve mental fatigue.
- Temples: Use gentle circular motions with the curved edge. Helps release tension and headaches.
- Base of skull: Gently comb along the occipital ridge. Helps relieve neck tension.
Step 3: Facial Massage
Use the smooth curved edges or rounded teeth with light pressure.
- Jawline: Glide along the jaw from chin to ear using a curved edge. Helps lift and define the jawline.
- Cheeks: Sweep from the sides of the nose outward toward the ears, slightly upward. Helps lift apple muscles and soften nasolabial folds.
- Forehead: Use upward and outward strokes from the center toward the temples. Helps release tension and smooth fine lines.
- Under-eye area: Use very light pressure with the smallest curved edge, sweeping from inner to outer corner. Helps reduce puffiness and dark circles.
- Nasal area: Gently glide along the sides of the nose from the inner corner down toward the nostrils. Helps open nasal passages and invigorate facial Qi.
- Neck: Use light, downward strokes from below the jaw along the side of the neck. Supports lymphatic drainage.
Step 4: Acupressure with Curved Tips
The coral branches have naturally pointed tips that are perfect for acupressure:
- Yingxiang (beside nostrils): Gently press to open nasal passages.
- Points around eyes: Gently press Zanzhu, Yuyao, and Sizhukong along the brow bone.
- Temples: Press and hold to release tension.
- Scalp points: Press into specific points on the scalp to awaken energy.
Step 5: Post-Massage Care
After your massage session, gently pat any remaining oil into your skin. Drink a glass of warm water to support hydration and metabolism. For scalp massage, avoid washing your hair or exposure to cold wind for at least 4 hours.

Material Note: This comb is crafted from natural green sandalwood, finished with no paint or varnish. The wood is polished to a smooth, natural luster that feels gentle against the skin.
About Green Sandalwood: Natural green sandalwood commonly appears in yellowish-brown tones. Over time and with regular use, the wood will gradually darken in color—this is a natural aging process, not fading or discoloration. All of our sandalwood products are made from 100% natural wood with no artificial coloring or dyes.
Natural "Silking" Phenomenon: When stored in a closed space for extended periods, organic compounds in the wood may form delicate, translucent crystalline fibers on the surface—a phenomenon known as "silking" (tǔ sī). This is a completely normal characteristic of high-quality green sandalwood and is NOT mold or mildew. Simply wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth, and the comb will be as good as new.
Each piece has its own unique grain, color, and character—no two are exactly alike. This natural variation is a sign of authenticity and craftsmanship, making every tool truly one-of-a-kind.
Care Instructions:
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth before and after each use.
- For facial use, always apply oil or serum to skin before use—never use on dry skin.
- For scalp use on dry hair, no oil is needed, but avoid excessive force.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or excessive moisture to prevent the natural wood from warping or cracking.
- Store in a cool, dry place. If natural "silking" occurs, simply wipe gently with a soft cloth.
